About the event

Join us for a moderate/difficult hike up two of Maine's 4,000-footers. This hike is approximately 13 miles with 4,196 feet of elevation gain. This is a great introduction to longer day hikes, with an alpine lake up top! The leaders of this adventure are: Hannah K. and Mallory!

(Note: this is our founder's favorite hike! I find it to be minimal elevation gain, with one primary difficult stretch. We will take plenty of snack and water breaks, and there are bathrooms on the trail. Once again, this is a great introduction to longer hikes!)

Trip participants will ascend the Fire Warden's Trail with the option to summit Avery Peak (for those bagging all of the Maine 4,000-footers) and will stop at the Horns Pond on descent for a post-hike dip. This is a great place to snack, paint, or just hang out.

Folks will meet at the Fire Warden's trailhead…
